Judges and Volunteer Registration for 2019 - Closed

Thinking about being a judge?  Here’s what you need to know…

  1. If you’ve judged before, or participated when you were younger and have a desire to participate again as an adult, CONTACT US

  2. If you’re a parent, a sibling, a relative, or otherwise interested party in the team of a child you know, every team participating at our Regional Tournament MUST provide a judge. It is a requirement of tournament participation. This tournament simply isn’t possible without the efforts of uncounted volunteers, so we need curious, caring people just like you to make our tournament happen. Almost anyone can do it — no advanced degrees or previous experience are required. If you’re at least 18 years old, like kids and enjoy seeing what they are capable of when left to their own devices….you’re qualified. You will not be able to the performance of the team whose judging requirement you fulfill. But you will make it possible for that child’s team to participate. That sacrifice may be the bigger reward, but many people find the experience rewarding too: fun, challenging and engaging. And…we offer lunch and breakfast each day of your commitment, plus a free officials t-shirt, emblazoned with this year logo on the front!

  3. Each team is required to supply a minimum of one judge and one volunteer for the tournament. As a judge you will need to attend one day of training so you can learn what amazing things will be coming your way on the tournament day. This job is so important for making the day a great day for the kids that present their solutions. Volunteers will receive additional information from the Volunteer Coordinator. Thanks in advance for making this day special for the kids of our region.

All we need is your commitment to two dates: judges training (February 9, 2019 at Village Glen School, Sherman Oaks, from 9am to 1pm) and our Regional Tournament (all day on March 2, 2019 at Westlake High School). All judges must attend both events.
